Why are we named Painted Leaf?

We are Painted Leaf Studio after all!🌿🎨

Did I tell you the story of why we chose that name? After graduating college with a degree in Art, I felt completely unprepared for "real life". Ironically I had taken a class called Real Life but even that didn't prepare me for an adult life as a creative. I ended up working as a case manager for a law firm and did that for several years. I was good at it, but it definitely wasn't a fit for me. It wasn't until I had my daughter and started being able to share my passion for art that things started connecting.

I taught her what I knew about art and she re-taught me how to be creative, spontaneous & flexible. One day, we decided to paint on a leaf and everything just clicked. Combining art & nature just seemed like something so natural to us. Painted Leaf was born as a way to share our love for open-ended & creative experiences with Tampa families.

We've met hundreds of families all over Tampa Bay and have been so lucky to share what we do best: process art & creative play.

Here we are a year in, trying to reinvent ourselves and finding ways to bring a little bit of the Painted Leaf experience directly into your home.
